SUPERCHARGE YOUR MIND & BODY

How to increase your energy levels for your lifestyle.

Whether it’s the 4pm slump or lacking in energy overall, there are probably areas of your day-to-day routine that can be adjusted to supercharge your mind and body. From drinking more water to investing in treatments like Cryotherapy, increasing your energy levels is important when we compare this to the current pace of our lifestyles. Only getting busier by the day, adapting new routines will see you energised for longer.

HAVE A ROUTINE

The number one area that stabilises and synchronises with your energy levels is sleep. Sleep allows your body to recover and re-energise itself ready for the next day. A good habit to get into is to set a time each night for when you can switch off and head to bed, the right amount of sleep for your body not only improves your functionality but optimises your energy levels during the day, resulting in a more alert mind and body.

BREAK A SWEAT

Exercise is scientifically proven to boost your energy levels, by releasing chemicals called endorphins, this then interacts with our brain, not only reducing the perception of pain but also it triggers a positive feeling that runs through the body. Not only a way of improving energy levels but regular exercise also reduces stress and anxiety and improves your sleeping pattern.

BE MINDFUL OF YOUR DIET

Going hand in hand with both exercise and energy levels has to be your diet. Once you start to fuel your body effectively with nutrient-dense foods you will see a dramatic increase in your energy levels. Avoid cheap, processed, nutrient sparse foods and replace them with fresh and wholesome products that will spark your energy levels. Whether it’s bananas, brown rice or what is considered to be a super food like avocado’s, incorporating them into your diet will carry you through the day better than crisps, sweets and chocolate that only offer a quick burst of energy.

INCORPORATE A TREATMENT

Beauty and technology has certainly advanced into a space where we can stimulate our body’s own natural responses to achieve what exercise and diet can also do. Take 111CRYO/HEAT for example, it is treatment system that conditions the body for optimal wellness. CRYO involves exposing the body to -85 degrees in a quick yet effective 3 minutes, creating both mental and physical benefits. HEAT works through an infrared sauna wellness pod for 15/30 minutes that includes LED, oxygen-enriched air and aromatherapy. Combined CRYO/HEAT is a non-invasive treatment that resets, restores and rejuvenates the body and completing 2 or 3 sessions a week is a great addition to your routine.

“At 111SKIN we want help boost ATP levels (Adenosine Triphosphate) in the body the best way we can. A quick trip to Cryo will invigorate the body to fuel ATP and using any of our Regenerative Collection inspired by Cryo helps mimic those ATP enhancing effects on the skin”.

STAY HYDRATED

Not only a rule for clear and radiant skin but staying hydrated throughout the day is essential for keeping you alert and energised. As a way of boosting your metabolism, drinking enough water has a positive impact on your energy levels.

FOR mature skin

Depending on your target both Citric Acid and Retinol work for maturing skin. Citric acid is great as a brightening formula for the skin, especially if you are looking to revive dull skin. Retinol works as an ingredient to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles as well as improving uneven skin tone and smoothening of the skin’s surface.

FOR dry skin

It is best to avoid acids on dry skin because the skin’s barrier is weak, so for dry skin working with hydrating products is highly preferred over acids.

FOR dehydrated skin

Hyaluronic Acid is your skin’s best friend when it comes to hydration and as a naturally occurring sugar molecule it can absorb and retain moisture within the skin. Absorbing moisture like a sponge, it pulls hydration towards the skin instead of withdrawing from it. In conjunction with a moisturiser, the acid will provide the necessary hydration that your skin needs.
