SKINCARE & ROSACEA

Skin conditions can be a nightmare to deal with and when you don’t understand it, you can often feel lost in how to treat it. Rosacea is a widely acknowledged skin condition that affects millions of individuals worldwide and understanding it as well as refining your skincare routine is important when dealing with it on a daily basis.

My favourite kit has to be the Clarity Kit because the range itself really helps with my breakouts and answers my skin’s needs. I find that the selection is simple yet effective and can easily be implemented into my current routine. I use the 3 Phase Anti Blemish Booster on a daily basis as a concentrated spot treatment and then the Anti- Blemish Bio Cellulose Facial Mask as and when my skin needs it – the colour of the set is amazing also.

WHAT IS ROSACEA?

At first glance rosacea can be mistaken for eczema, acne or a skin allergy but it is in fact a chronic, inflammatory skin condition that often flares up on the face. It can be detected through skin sensitivity, redness, flushing or papules (small red bumps) and yet its exact cause is still unknown. It appears to develop through a complex exchange between genetic, environmental, inflammatory and vascular factors such as alcohol, change in temperature, foods, sunlight exposure or even too much exercise - essentially an irritant, rosacea should be treated with sensitivity.

HOW TO TREAT IT?

As there is no direct cure for Rosacea there are various treatments that come into play when dealing with it. A combination of lifestyle changes as well as medical treatments can be used to treat it and reduce inflammation and sensitivity. Soothing topical ingredients should be used as a way to calm the skin therefore applying chamomile extract, azulene extract or white tea can benefit the skin as they contain anti-inflammatory benefits and are natural antioxidants that help to calm the skin against any aggressors.

YOUR ROUTINE

When applying a skincare routine, it is important to treat rosacea as you would sensitive skin and not over apply products. In terms of your routine, working the Antioxidant Energising Essence, Y Theorem Repair Serum NAC Y2 and the Bio Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask into your current routine will work to combat irritation as the calming ingredients like Aloe Vera or the powerful NAC Y2 formula works to repair and renew the skin, collectively complimenting the skin’s barriers.

Make sure that you avoid products containing fragrance, harsh exfoliators, alcohol and retinoids.

ALWAYS ….

Seek a doctor for guidance with any skin conditions.
