This time every year, we would be celebrating the Bulgarian Rose Festival, rooted in the brand’s heritage, as our Co-Founder, Eva Alexandridis strongly celebrates her roots. With Covid-19 still very much a focus, we can celebrate virtually and remember the tradition that would have taken place over this weekend. Dressing up in pink every May and June and stretched across the Rose Valley that stretches for about 87 miles across a narrow interval within the Balkan mountain range.
The region is now famous for one of the world’s biggest sources of oil that is likened to ‘liquid gold’. Taking more than 3,180 pounds of roses to produce a single pound of oil, the rose oil today is highly coveted, and the significance of the rose is both a national treasure and national symbol of pride for Bulgaria.
The most common rose to be picked during this festival and time is the Damask Rose, expertly serving this in our Rose Gold Collection we wanted to bring part of our heritage into the range that serves so well for luminosity and brightening.
