What is Glutathione?
Glutathione: considered the most important antioxidant within the human body, able to prevent life threatening disease and slow down the ageing process, yet despite over 89,000 medical articles on the life-saving molecule, it remains relatively unheard of.
It is a tripeptide consisting of three amino acids: Cysteine, Glycine and Glutamic Acid that work together to stimulate cell regeneration and diminish the signs of ageing as well as strengthening the outer layer of the skin to prevent further damage.
Where can you find glutathione?
The master antioxidant naturally occurs within the body, however as you age, the body loses its ability to produce it. In addition, other free radical damage factors such as: pollution, stress, and diet can all have a negative effect on the production of glutathione. As a result, cells become damaged, leaving your body more susceptible to illness and diseases such as: cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer’s to name a few.
Glutathione is particularly important to anti-ageing because it holds the ability to neutralise free radicals and their harmful effects, thereby delaying the ageing process, which is why we have incorporated it into every single product within the 111SKIN range. Taking Glutathione orally has no direct effect on the increase of its cellular levels so it needs to be stimulated through NAC.
What is NAC?
NAC works to encourage collagen production as well as support the production of glutathione. It improves the skin’s elasticity and helps the skin to repair itself. 111SKIN have made NAC even more efficient by combining it with added peptides and antioxidants that have been proven to delay ageing. These include:
Acetyl Cyseteine- an amino acid that encourages collagen production
Ascorbyl Phosphate- a potent derivative of Vitamin C, this antioxidant helps to fight free radicals and even out skin tone.
Escin- A group of antioxidants that allows the NAC and Ascorbyl Phosphate to be transported to the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate cell renewal.
