Four Ways To Update Your Make Up In 2015
A new year means New Year's Resolutions, and no doubt many of you have vowed to join the gym, cut out sugar and fit in three workouts a week. These are all common resolutions, but just because you're making a change doesn't mean that change can't be fun! This year why not vow to try something completely different with your make-up? Trying out next seasons trends if the perfect way to do this, and also ideal for easing you into a new trend (by the time the next season comes around you're going be perfectly prepped).
It's still a few months until we make it to Spring, but that doesn't mean you can't start trying out the trends now. We've put together a list of our four favourite S/S15 make-up looks which you can start wearing now. So grab your make-up bag and start practicing these looks.
1. Plum Makeup
Plum was a huge hit on the S/S15 catwalks, but this rich, earthy, dark shade is also perfect to start wearing now. If you are feeling bold then try creating a plum eyeshadow look, whether it's an updated version of the classic smoky eye or ringing the eyes in a vibrant purple, January is the time to be bold and experiment. If that's too daring for you then ease yourself into the trend by wearing a statement plum lip. Don't forget to line lips to make sure the colour stays put and to prevent it bleeding into small lines around the mouth.
2. Inky Black Eyes
Black eyeliner is a staple product in many people's make up bags, but if you haven't tried this look yet then do it now. The fact that there are so many eyeliner looks for you try means you can play around and experiment until you find the right shape for you. Go classic with cat eye, which clean and chic enough for everyday wear, or go for a bold, graphic look. For maximum night time drama, ring your entire eye with a liquid liner.
3. Bold Red Lips
Red lipstick is no real new trend, but we can't enough of this beauty bag staple. We usually tend to gravitate towards darker, richer shades in the winter. Like crimsons or red bordering on a berry/purple hue. But for 2015 go for a red which a bit more vibrant, something you would pick for summer wear. Fill in lips with a lip pencil first, either in the same red shade or a transparent liner, then apply your lipstick over the top for a bold look.
4. "Lit From Within" Skin
'No make-up' make-up has become really popular over the last few seasons, and now the look has seriously upped it's game going from flawless skin to a glowing offering. Gone is the idea of using make up to cover up the skin, 2015 is all about perfectly cleansed and moisturised skin, enhanced with natural highlighting and contouring to accentuate your natural features. Say goodbye to even light BB or CC creams, and instead find a moisturiser which works for your skin. Start by prepping skin with the Lift Off Purifying Cleanser, which gently cleanses the skin and improves circulation for a radiant glow, and then apply the Space Anti-Age Day Emulsion, a lightweight vitamin and antioxidant infused moisturiser. Finish by applying highlighter to your cheekbones, nose and cupids bow, and a gentle shading of blush to warm the complexion.
