A Weekend in Paris
Paris might be the city of love, but come Paris Fashion Week the streets are full of leggy models running from show to show with the fashion editors and photographers not trailing far behind. PFW might be all blood, sweat and tears, but it needn't be with our edit of where to go and what to do in this marvellous metropolis.
During the day
Of course, any fashion editor in her right mind will be hitting the Chanel show, but for those searching for a more tranquil activity Paris is home to some of the best art galleries in the world.
We could recommend the Louvre, but who doesn't? For something different try the Centre Pompidou. Full of modern art and insane installations, there’s something for everyone and will certainly keep you entertained. Check out the Anselm Kiefer exhibition, on until the 16th April.
Restaurants
Paris is chock full of restaurants – whether you’re after traditional French cuisine, or something a little different, Paris is guaranteed to have whatever you’re craving.
Chez Omar has the best couscous money can buy this side of Morocco. The reasonable prices have queues stretching round the corner, so get there early to avoid disappointment. But beware: this is an informal place for friends and family, definitely avoid taking those all-important clients here.
La Belle Epoque serves slightly more traditional French faire. The 1920s décor makes for some great Instagram posts, and the ambience is exactly what one would come to expect when talking Parisian glamour. Keep an eye out and you might spy some celebrities- but after a busy day at Fashion week celebs might be the last thing you want to see.
Bars
To extend your night a little longer, head to one of Paris’ many trendy bars.
Hotel Grand Amour’s décor needs to be seen to be believed. Highlighted in Vogue as one of the best hotels in Paris, the bar is only second to the hotel itself. Full of trendy cliental, this equally trendy bar is situated in Paris’ answer to Shoreditch, so if you get tired of the crowd, there are multitudes of other choices in the area.
For a slightly more sultry ambience, head to Mathis Restaurant and Bar. Another typical French atmosphere awaits here; dark corners and romantic lighting serves for a great evening getting swept up in Parisian glamour.
